What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that allow certain information about visitors to be stored on their terminal devices when a web page is visited. These files store information regarding visitors' internet usage; however, no information is collected regarding files stored on mobile devices or computers. In addition to enabling a website to function more efficiently, cookies allow for the provision of personalized pages in order to provide visitors with a faster and more suitable browsing experience tailored to their individual needs.

For cookies used on the Platform other than strictly necessary cookies, users' explicit consent is obtained, and users are provided with the opportunity to change their consent at any time. Through the cookie management panel, users can view the types of cookies used on our Platform and determine their preferences for all cookies other than Strictly Necessary Cookies by selecting the "on" or "off" options. Users may also modify their preferences at any time via this panel.

Types of Cookies

Cookies Based on Duration of Use: The Platform uses session cookies and persistent cookies based on their duration of use. Session cookies are used to ensure the continuity of the session and are deleted when the user closes their browser. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, are not deleted when the internet browser is closed and are automatically deleted on a specified date or after a certain period of time. Persistent cookies may also be used to ensure that users do not need to re-enter their login credentials each time they log in to their accounts on the Platform and to retain their usage preferences. In this context, the Platform uses both session and persistent cookies based on their duration of use.

First-Party and Third-Party Cookies: Whether a cookie is a first-party or third-party cookie depends on the Platform or domain that places the cookie. First-party cookies are placed directly by the Platform and website visited by the user, i.e., the internet address displayed in the browser's address bar, https://vocoapp.com. Third-party cookies, on the other hand, are placed by a domain different from the one visited by the user. In this context, the Platform uses both first-party and third-party cookies.

Cookies Based on Their Purpose of Use: The following cookies are used on the Platform based on their purpose of use:

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the operation of the Platform. Such cookies are first-party cookies and process personal data during the session (except for cookies relating to your privacy preferences, as these cookies have a longer lifespan than the session duration) and are automatically deleted once the session ends. These cookies are strictly necessary for the provision of an information society service that you have requested (such as logging in, completing forms, and remembering privacy preferences). In addition, first-party performance and analytical cookies enable the counting of visitors to the Platform and the measurement of traffic. Through these cookies, we are able to measure and improve the performance of the Platform. These cookies help us understand which pages on the Platform are the most and least popular. If strictly necessary cookies are blocked, certain parts of the Platform may not function properly. These cookies are used for purposes such as security and authentication and are not used for any marketing purposes.

2. Advertising/Marketing Cookies

These cookies are placed by our advertising partners through the Platform and are third-party cookies. These cookies are used by our business partners to create a profile based on your interests and to display relevant advertisements to you.

3. Functional Cookies

These types of cookies are used to make the Platform more functional and for personalization purposes (such as remembering your preferences, other than your privacy preferences, when you revisit the site).
